Meet the Press's Chuck Todd hosted former Vice President Dick Cheney yesterday, and it's an encounter Todd won't soon forget. Like the rest of the liberal media, Todd tried to deride Cheney for his support of enhanced interrogation techniques used by the CIA in the War on Terror.
Tod asked Cheney how we would treat an ISIS terrorist if we found he had waterboarded an American citizen. Cheney, who deserves credit for being patient with the fool, explained the stupidity of that question.
"He’s not likely to be waterboarded," Cheney said. "He’s likely to have his head cut off. It’s not even a close call.
Todd shifted gears slightly, trying to make the stupid question less stupid. He failed. When Todd posed the same question again, this time with an Iranian terrorist as the culprit, Cheney schooled him.
Chuck, you are trying to come up with hypotheticals. But waterboarding, the way we did it was, in fact, not torture. When you deal with terrorists the likes of Al Qaeda or the likes of ISIS — I haven’t seen them waterboard anybody. What they do is cut their heads off. And what they did to 3,000 Americans on 9/11, that was brutal, bloody murder. It absolutely can’t be compared with what we did in the enhanced interrogation program.
It's good to know we still have people like Dick Cheney who understand the threats we face, and recognize what it takes to defeat them.
