The Muslim terrorist group ISIS has released a new video demanding the release of a female terrorist and claiming to have beheaded one of two Japanese men being held hostage.
Kenji Goto is one of the Japanese men being held by the Islamic group. The video shows Goto holding a photo of the dead body of Haruna Yukawa, who was also being held.
In the video, Goto explains that Yukawa has been beheaded, and asks for the release of a terrorist who is currently in custody.
"I am Kenji Goto Jogo," the journalist is heard to say in the video, which was directed toward his family. "You have seen the photo of my cellmate Haruna slaughtered in the land of the Islamic Caliphate. You were warned. You were given a deadline and so my captives acted upon their words."
The Islamic State had demanded a $200 million ransom for the release of the two men. The 72-hour deadline passed on Friday. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had refused to pay a ransom.
In the video, Goto said Islamic State had changed its ransom demand and no longer wanted money.
"Their demand is easier. They are being fair. They no longer want money. So you don't need to worry about funding terrorists. They are just demanding the release of their imprisoned sister Sajida al-Rishawi," he said.
Sajida al-Rishawi was arrested for the atempted bombing of a hotel, and is currently being held by the Jordanian government.
Goto explains in the video that if al-Rishawi isn't released, he will also be beheaded.
The disturbed terrorist goons have not only posted the video to multiple social media sites for distribution, they reportedly emailed the video to Goto's family.
It's important to note that Sajida al-Rishawi was supposed to be executed for her crime several years ago, but appealed in Jordanian court and is awaiting decision on that appeal.
If nothing else good comes from this, and I can't imagine what other positive outcome this could have, at least maybe one or two world leaders will see once and for all that treating terrorists as criminals deserving of due process is the wrong policy. Had al-Rishawi been executed shortly after arrest, ISIS could not now be holding innocent men and demanding her release.
