When Barack Obama was running for president in 2008, he lied about his healthcare plan and told gullible voters that he intended to lower their annual insurance premiums by $2,500. He was speaking specifically about employer-provided health insurance plans.
Employer-based health insurance premiums climbed 4.2% this year for family plans, according to an annual Kaiser Family Foundation report. That's up from 3% the year before.
Since 2008, average family premiums have climbed a total of $4,865.
The White House cheered the news, saying it was a sign of continued slow growth in premium costs.
Read that last line again. An increase of $4,865 instead of a drop of $2,500 is a difference of plus $7,365, and the Liar-in-Chief claims this is good news.
More of the same, unfortunately. More of the same.
At least Bernie Sanders is honest about wanting to take all of your money and waste it. I'm not sure if it makes him better or worse than Obama. I suppose you could say that at least Obama respects you enough to lie to you.
